Hillstead Museum Wedding Venue | Cole + Stephanie

Cole and Stephanie celebrated their wedding day at The Hillstead Museum located in Farmington Connecticut. The Hillstead is one of Hartford County’s most stunning wedding venues.

All day there were storm clouds lurking in the distance, but it never phased this couple.. They are two of the most down to earth, genuine, kind hearted people you could know. Somehow, the storms held off throughout their ceremony, family formals, wedding party portraits and just as we were finishing up the bride and groom portraits, the skies opened up and it stormed hard for about a half an hour while family and friends enjoyed cocktail hour. This couple took it all in stride and Stephanie even said that she loved how the storm made their wedding day memorable and unique.

Cole and Stephanie’s wedding ceremony took place in the Sunken Garden. This area of the Hillstead Museum has gorgeous perennial gardens and rustic stone walls, one of the Bride’s favorite parts of the wedding venue.

After the rain tapered off it was time to start the reception in the Grass Court, This area of the property has views of the veranda and the historic home, and is the perfect spot for a tented reception.
