Read MoreI was so excited when Paul and Talia told me they wanted their fur babies to join in on some of the photo fun during their engagement session. The pups may have wanted to explore the park more than pose for photos, but they decided to join on the fun in the end.
I knew the perfect spot for a natural wooded location with tall trees as a backdrop to their engagement photos, just like they envisioned.
Couples may feel a little nervous at the very start of their session, it can feel a little weird to have a camera focused on you. Have no fear, my corny jokes and hilarious prompts with either loosen you guys up or help you bond over your mutual feeling of awkwardness at my expense…either way you nail the perfect laughing shot and I win. No but really, my sessions are just full of fun and focus on you two love birds enjoying your time together celebrating your love. No need for stiff poses or fake smiles.
I can not wait to photograph Paul and Talia’s backyard wedding this coming Fall in Milford, CT.

The morning of Keri and Steven’s wedding was a total wash out. The heavy rain continued through their ceremony right up until they said “I do.” Not only did the rain come to an end just as their ceremony was ending, but the clouds moved away leaving us with the clearest blue sky for the rest of the evening.
Smith College Conference Center is located right near the gardens and green house which provided a gorgeous back drop to our bride and groom portraits. We spent time exploring the property while these two soaked up their time together.
And then it was time to party! Air guitar anyone?
Keri and Steven’s entire wedding day was full of laughs, positive vibes even through the storm, and over flowing with love!

Maria and Sam’s paths first crossed in a freshman dormitory at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 2006. The two hit the ground running. Maria spent hours pouring over her biology and chemistry textbooks and studying late into the night. Sam took up the sport of rugby, joined the jazz band, and developed an affinity for Baltimore’s finest National Bohemian beer. In between their busy schedules, they found themselves chatting in the dorm hallways late at night on numerous occasions. When they returned from winter break in January, Sam was extremely “disappointed” to hear that Maria and her boyfriend in Brazil were no longer together. Soon enough, they found themselves growing fond of each other, and by the time May rolled around, Sam was no longer disappointed. They kept in touch over the phone that summer and the distance only brought them closer. They returned in the fall, and became inseparable over the next 3 years.
Upon graduating in 2010, the couple found themselves at a crossroads. Maria had been accepted to medical school in Virginia, and Sam had taken a job in Connecticut. They decided to stick things out. Though hundreds of a miles apart, they found a way to stay strong. There were many skype calls and weekend plane and train trips. Maria even made the 10 hour trip by car during her vacations, summoning the power provided by Harry Potter audio books and podcasts. When it came time for Maria to apply for a residency, they knew that they no longer wanted to live apart. Maria would need to apply for a work Visa which had the potential to make things very difficult for her application process. There was no doubt in Sam’s mind that Maria was the one for him, so over a routine skype session, he romantically suggested, “Why don’t we just get married?!” The two were wed in a small ceremony in July of 2013.
In June of 2014, Maria began her residency in Connecticut and after 4 long years apart, they would finally be able to share a home together in West Hartford, Ct. That home became even more complete less than a year later when Maria suggested they visit the CT humane society on a rainy day in March, “just to look”. Less than 24 hours later, Sam was driving home with a 3 month old pitbull in the backseat. Despite the destruction of many shoes, mail, and furniture, Olive, as they named her, has been the most wonderful addition.
Most recently, they have learned that they will be moving on to a new phase of their lives. Maria will begin a fellowship in reproductive medicine at Johns Hopkins starting in July of 2018, and so they’ll be heading back to Baltimore where it all began.
It is needless to say that the last 10 years have been quite an adventure. Sam and Maria are so thankful for the love and support they’ve received throughout this journey, from all of their family and friends. They are thrilled that they finally have the opportunity to celebrate their love for each other in the presence of all of those who mean the most to them on June 2nd, 2018.

Abby and Jim's backyard wedding in Clinton, CT totally blew me away! Somehow between all of the planning that comes with your big day, Abby found time to incorporate her passion into her wedding day. All of the wooden structures you see, from her stunning backdrop she said her vows in front of, to the table decorated with apples and cider...Abby MADE. Like, by hand!! Is awesome is that?! All of the Autumn details of pumpkins and apples were perfect accents to craftsmanship.
Abby and Jim met at work and have been together for 7 years. They are total adventure junkies. Their most memorable date together was their first camping trip in
below freezing temps.
Their Wedding Day started with a First Look near the edge of the water. Abby's wedding dress was the perfect mix of elegant and simplify that goes so well with an intimate wedding.
Family and friends gathered on the lawn awaiting the Bride escorted by her father. Abby's mother was the justice of the peace and it was the perfect touch to their family filled Wedding Day.
The evening was filled with dancing, jumo Janga (yes, Abby made that as well!) paper lanterns and lots of love.
I am wishing Abby and Jim many, many more years filled with amazing adventures!

Becky and John had the most wonderful weather for their wedding day at the Litchfield Inn. Bright and Sunny, warm but not humid. Their ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful Litchfield Inn in Connecitcut. Becky and John’s day began with Becky getting ready with close friends and family at the Inn's gorgeous Bridal Suite, can we talk about that red accent wall? Stunning! John and his groomsmen got ready in rustic Cabin Room.
We then headed to Topsmead State Park for Becky and John's first look, which was emotional to say the least. Followed by formals with parents and wedding party.
Just weeks before their wedding, Becky and John took in foster pups from a local rescue. We were able to get all of the pups into their wedding day and it added so much fun, and for a good cause, to help find these puppies their forever homes. I am thrilled to say all of the puppies have been adopted.
Becky and John's Wedding Day was perfection. From the smallest details to the great big emotion filled moments.
